The HouseBot Rating is calculated by combining a robot’s Navigation and Manipulation performance, each rated on a 5-point scale.

Navigation ability is evaluated by how consistently the robot handles a range of mobility tasks, including:
• Avoiding obstacles in real time
• Recovering from a fall independently
• Completing a 100-meter dash
• Ascending and descending stairs
• Executing jumps with safe landings

Manipulation is scored based on how reliably the robot performs tasks requiring dexterity and precision, such as:
• Sorting and organizing items in warehouse settings
• Performing light assembly tasks on a production line
• Handling kitchen duties like loading and unloading dishwashers
• Folding laundry with minimal guidance
• Executing fine-motor tasks, such as threading a needle
